Jumped From Ferry, Killed
(Special) AUCKLAND, This Day. A waterside worker lost his life when he slipped and fell into the water from the Birkenhead wharf after jumping from the ferry steamer Kestrel about 6.45 last evening, He was Mr. .tames Grach l , aged about. GO. married. of Mckoia Road. Birkenhead. According to an eye-witness, Mr. Graeie
fell between' the Puffer piles and the whavl alter lie had leaped from the firry jitsl as the vessel was cn the point of leaving on its return journey to the city. He apparently struck his head on a pile in falling. and his body disappeared under the wharf.
