Release Of Defaulters
(P.A.) WELLINGTON, This Day Replying to Mr. A. S. Sullivan (Opp.— Hauraki), who asked for an assurance to the country thin military objectors would not be released until all servicemen had been rehabilitated, the lion. H. G. R. Mason said in ihe House of Representatives yestcraly that an assurance could noi. be given in terms open to so much variation of 'interpretation. Any decisions in the matter would be made in the light of relevant circumstances existing when the decisions were made, and would be so directed as to safeguard Hitrehabilitation and interests of servicemen. Answering another question by Mr. Sutherland as to whether the Government, intended io introduce legislation depriving military defaulters of their civil rights for a period of years, the Prime. Minister (Hon. P. Fraser), said Ihc matter would receive the Government’s consideration.
