WEDDING

FOOTE—TRACEY The Fail-burns Church, decora led by friends, was the scene of a pretty wedding on April la, when Lorna, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. Tracey, was married to’ (limner Henry Foote, eldest son of* Mr .and Mrs. Foote, Whakatane. The- Rev. A. .J. Johnston (Birkenhead), assisted by the Uev. 1,. Gilmore, performed the ceremony, and Mr. Bruce Foster played the -wedding music. The bride, who is a member of the W.A.A.F., entered the church with her father, wearihg an afternoon frock of powder-blue Canadian silk crepe, with smocked yoke anil sleeves, and a felt picture hat to match. Her armlet was of mauve chrysanthemums and asparagus fern.

Miss Laurel Tracey, who attended her sister as bridesmaid, wore a becoming frock of cyclamen crepe, with grey accessories, and carried an armlet of matching dahlias and asparagus fern. The bridegroom, who is on furlough from the Middle East, was attended hi .Sergt. Allan Boyd, who is also home on furlough. The reception was held in the Fnirburns flail where about GO guests sat down to the wedding breakfast. The guests were received bv Mrs. Tracey, who was attired in a" navy-corded silk frock, with hat and accessories to match, and carried a bouquet of scarlet and golden chrysanthemums. The bridegroom’s mother (Mrs. Foote) wore a becoming frock of navy satin-backed crepe, with accessories to tone, and carried a boti quet of gold dahlias. The beautiful wedding cake was made by Mrs. Tracey and decorated by Mrs. Metcalfe.

The happy couple afterwards left for the south, the bride travelling in her Air Force uniform.

On Tuesday evening a very enjoyable party was held in honour of the prospective bride and bridegroom, who were the recipients of a presentation, v ■<»
