Plan Administration Of Liberated Lands

(8.0. W.)

RUGBY. April 25

Mr. Anthony Eden had a further conversation this _ morning at the Foreign Office with Mr. Stettinius, whose visit is drawing to an end. Mr. J. G. Win ant and the Soviet Ambassador <M. Gousev) took part in the conversation, at the conclusion of which Mr. Eden entertained his visitors to luncheon.

Good progress is understood to have been made in exchanging views and bringing about agreement on subjects of common interest to Britain and America at this vital moment.

Today's discussions followed a conference yesterday among American delegates, among whom was Mr. William Phillips, former Ambassador and Under-Secretary for State, and now political adviser to General Eisenhower. It is understood that arrangements with European and Allied authorities and plans for civil administration in liberated areas take a prominent place in British and American conferences. The British and United States Governments, which are constantly aiming at the widest Allied agreement, are convinced that the exploratory visit of Mr. Stettinius is a

valuable and indispensable preliminary to this object.
