100 Carrier To Lead Drive To Japan

NEW YORK. April 25. By the end of the year iFTe United .States will have more than 100 aircraftcarriers to spearhead the westward drive in the Pacific, said the Chief of the Navv Bureau of Aeronautics (Rear-Admiral Dewitt Ramsey). Through concentration of carriers, overwhelming airpower can be brought to bear against small but strategically important islands and objectives where the terrain restricts the use of land-based planes.
