Not A Safe Square Foot In Whole Anzio Area
LONDON, April 12.
Major George Artman, recently returned from Anzio beachhead, described the Allied position as a German artillery impact area. He said there was not a safe square foot of ground on the whole beachhead. The Allies have been forced to dig in the way they did in the first World War, with deep holes and overhead cover.
