State Miners Go Home
GREYMOUTI-I. This Day
The Minister for Mines (Hon. P. C. Webb) left by. plane on his return to Wellington this morning, following negotiations with the Runanga State Miners’ Union. An indication that the decision reached did not meet the wishes of all the men came when 56 who attended the Liverpool mine this morning walked out, following a meeting at which the negotiations with the Minister were discussed. They returned to their homes without starting work.. It is understood disciplinary action will follow.
