(P.A.) AUCKLAND. This Day Two girls from Dunedin who came to Auckland on holiday and decided they would like to remain, unsuccessfully appealed to the Auckland Manpower Industrial Committee today against the refusal of the manpower officer 10 allow them to terminate their employment wish Roslyn Mills at Dunedin. Thev were Mona Cockroft and Nancy Jessie Laurenson, who said they came t< Auckland at Christmas and obtained work here with the consent of the manpower officer. It was stated officially that the girls were given only temporary employment until the question ol' whether they were to remain was cleared up. A representative of the Roslyn Company said that the company was not prepared to release the girls, particularly as the case was a clear one oi flouting ihe manpower officer’s decision. The appeals were dismissed.
