Military Appointments

(P.A.) WELLINGTON, This Day! The following appointments and promotions of officers of the New Zealand Military Forces were gazetted last night:Temporary Lieutenant-Colonel R. D. McFarland, of the Waikato Regiment, to the Reserve of Officers.

Colonel N. L. Macky relinquishes the appointment of Fortress Commander, Bay of Islands, and is posted to the Reserve of Officers.

Colonel W. Murphy, Second N.Z.E.F., is attached to Army Headquarters for duty as liaison officer. Third Division.

Temporary-Colonel C. V. Ciochetto ceases to be seconded for service with the National Service Department and is posted to the Reserve of Officers.

Temporary-Lieutenant-Colonel H. S. Jones, New Zealand Artillery, relinquished command of a field regiment and is posted to the Reserve of Officers, j Colonel W. W. Dove. Second N.Z.E.F., in the Pacific, to be brigadier. Colonel J. M. Twigg, New Zealand Medical Corps, to be brigadier.

Lieutenant-Colonel S. L. Wilson relinquishes the appointment of officer commanding a. casualty, clearing station on being placed on (he New Zealand roll. Major G. T. Upton. Second N.Z.E.F., Fiji, io be lieutenant-colonel while officer commanding an infantry battalion.
