Railroad Dispute Settled

(Rec. 1 p.m.) WASHINGTON, Jan. 18,

President Roosevelt announced a settlement of the railroad Avage dispute under which non-operating workers will receive an increase of 9 to 11 cents hourly. Mr Roosevelt said he would authorise Mr Stimson immediately to relinquish army control of the railroads. The settlement provides that non-operating employees receiving less than 47 cents hourly Avill be increased by 11 cents. Those receiving 47 to 57 cents will be increased by 10 cents. All others will be increased by 9 cents.
