Five Missionaries Killed
LA PAZ, January 1(1. A Bolivian military detachment i'ou»nd the bodies of five American missionaries in the camps of savage Indians near the Santo Corazon River. The missionaries apparently had not been eaten, although Indians in the region practice cannibalism. The missionaries were members ot the “New Tribe Mission," of Chicago, and set out in November to befriend tribes in an unexplored region. They refused to carry arms, fearing that the sight of weapons would arouse the natives’ suspicion and anger.
