709 'Flu Deaths In Week In Britain

LONDON, Dec. 12. Deaths from influenza in the principal towns of England and Wales for the vyeek ended December 4, totalled 70D, the highest weekly figure for nearly seven years. A Washington message states that a mild epidemic of influenza is being experienced in the eastern states of the United States. The Washington Health Department estimates that 90,000 Washington residents have been affected since November 25 with no sign of the epidemic reaching its peak. A New York survey revealed as many as 1000 absent from work because of ’fill.
