The French population has fallen by ever 2,000,000 owing to war losses, executions and starvation, said the Secretary for the United Association of Great Britain and France (Mr. B. S. Townroe). New born babies averaged under six pounds, 34 per cent of schoolchildren last year did not gain weight and many lost weight. The average manual worker lost 20 to 30 lbs.. Deaths from tuberculosis increased 60 per cent. An infantile par - alysis epidemic broke out this summer. It is harder to cope with diseases because drugs and medical supplies are seriously short.
