Northern Wairoa Jerseys
At the annual pedigree bull sale of the Northern Wairoa Jersey Cattle Club, held at Arapohue yards on Wednesday, a good attendance of buyers competed keenly for good sorts with butterfat backing records. Forty animals were brought foi’ward in good condition and realised a total of 1227 guineas, an average of 311- guineas. The top price was obtained for Rockdale Ideal, bred by Messrs. R. and C. Wilkins, for which G. and W. Jeffs (Ruawai) paid 70 guineas. The next highest price was 55 guineas paid by Mr. J. Burnside (Tangowahine) for Bewsey Park Triumph, from the stud of Mr. J. R. Dodd. Bewsey Park Forward Lad, submitted by the same vendors, was purchased by Mr. W. A. Burges (Ruawai) for 53 guineas.
