Governor-General In Samoa
APIA, September 27. The visit of the Governor-General (Sir Cyril Newall) to Samoa two weeks ago was greatly appreciated and enjoyed by both Samoans and Europeans. Short notice of the visit only was possible and' this curtailed preparations for the welcome.
The Samoans received His Excellency at Mulinuu with the King’s kava ceremony and at Talolo, when a large gathering assembled. Visits were paid to the south coast. Upolu and Savaii, yhere natives excelled themselves in a loyal welcome. Government and mission schools and also 3 hospital were visited.
