Just In Case. It is a well known fact that service-car drivers have all sorts of duties to perform for farmers residing on their routes. One driver received a note this morning as follows: “Just in case they pass Prohibition today, please get me two bottles of beer.” * * * # Second Day of Spring Today is the second official day of spring.' Early this morning, spring was heralded by warm summer sunshine, but wet footpaths and roads told a different story, a story which was confirmed later when light misty rain began to fall. However, later in the morning, clouds dispersed and sunshine reasserted itself. It is to be hoped that such conditions prevail throughout this week-end. Contrasting with today, weather in Whangarei for the week has been showery and cold, with half-gale winds blowing at night. Rainfall has been heavy, but slight floods, which occurred early in the week. have now subsided. For the 24 hours until 8 a.m. this morning .llin. of rain was registered.
