Equal Rights For Negroes
NEW YORK, July 25. Full and equal rights for negroes is demanded by Mr. Wendell Willkie in a broadcast which added that race riots were caused bv an “attitude of mind akin tc Fascism.” He said that the Republican Party felt that it had no further obligation to the Negro citizen because Abraham Lincoln freed slaves. Mr. Willkie attacked Democrats for “sanctioning one set of principles in Atlanta and another in Harlem.”
