Wheelbarrow Booby Trap Serious repercussions may have occurred ns the result ol" some person with a perverted sense of humour placing an upturned wheelbarrow in the centre of a Whangarei roadway on Saturday morning. A. well-known resident while slowly driving his ear along Robert Stieet noticed an obstruct ion on the com re of the road, and on investigating found it to be a large upturned wheelbarrow which appeared to have been deliberately placed there.

It was the refusal of the collectors to accede to the inspector's request for covering on Wednesday last, when calves were faced with standing in trucks during a bitterly cold night, which led to discussion of the question by the S.P.C.A. * * $ * Falling off a fence yesterday, Calvin Robinson, a schoolboy, aged 14, of Onerahi, was admitted to hospital suffering from a fractured right arm. Falling on to his right shoulder while playing football yesterday. Clive Kec-bie, aged nine years, of 25 Oranga Road, received a fractured clavicle and was admitted to hospital. The condition of both patients is reported to be satisfactory.
