Lee, Trotting Owner, Disqualified 5 Years
(P.A.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. At a meeting of the board of the Mew Zealand Trotting Association last night, B. C. Lee was disqualified for five years and fined £ 100 and all horses owned by him were disqualified for five years. - Lee was charged that, being the owner of the horse Premier Royal, he corruptly entered into an arrangement with T. H. Gunning, trainer of Premier Royal, that the horse should not be a trier in the Otipua Handicap at the South Canterbury Jockey Club’s meeting in April, 1943, such arrangement being detrimental to the interests of trotting; also that he was, at the said meeting, guilty of misconduct, inasmuch as he assaulted Gunning.
