AUCKLAND. Saturday,

The indifference of young people to the claims of Christianity were referred to by Dr. J. M. Laird, of Wellington, secretary of the Crusader Movement of the Children’s Special Service Mission and the Scripture Union, at a meeting in the Town Hall concert chamber, Auckland. Dealing with what he characterised as “the serious and alarming moral and spiritual landslide” in New Zealaand. the speaker criticised the Government for its failure to make provision in its proposed youth movement for the spiritual welfare of young people. He declared that in New Zealand parental control, convincing leadership and a creed were lacking.
