Raids On Burma
(8.0. W.) RUGBY, Fob. 10. A joint communique from India states that last night R.A.F. Wellington bombers attacked a .jetty and railway sidings at the important: enemy-occupied town of Sagaing on the Irrawaddy River near Mandalay. Many explosions followed and large fires were left burning. Twice yesterday morning and once in the afternoon formations of Blenheims, escorted by fighters, raided Magyiehaung. Japanese supply base at the southern end of Mayu Peninsula. Many high explosives and incendiaries were seen to fall well in the target area. Other Blenheims attacked railway objectives at. Thazi junction and offensive fighter patrols were carried out on the Chindwin and Irrawaddy Rivers in the Akyab area along the Taungu Road. Damage was caused to four steamers, many river craft, some railway trucks and Japanese road camps. On Monday night our bombers attacked Prome. None of our aircraft is missing.
