Personal Pars

Mrs. M. Gould, who is a member of the teaching staff of the Whangarei High School, received word yesterday that her husband, Mr. Trevor Gould ; was a prisoner of war at Hongkong and fit and well on April 11. This information came through the British Embassy at Chungking. Mr. Gould, who served as a volunteer in the shore battery at Hongkong, is a son of Mrs. £lould and the late Mr. P. C. Gould, of Parnell, Auckland. He practised law at Dargaville prior to leaving for Fiji. Four years ago he went to Hongkong, where he received an appointment as Crown Counsel in the Supreme Court. The last news received from him was contained in a cable dated Decmbrß, 1941.
