Reduction In Power Board Advances

Reduction in the amount advanced to consumers was revealed in the financial statement submitted to the North Auckland Electric-power Board at Dargaville by the secreta’rv (Mr S. P. Day).

The report showed that at ’ March 31 last year advances to consumers amounted to £33,517 which had been reduced to £29,314 by July 31. 1941, £25,000 by March 31, 1942 and £20,263 by the end of last month. The amount out on loan had been reduced despite constant increases for new installations by £13,253 during the last 15 months. The collection of instalments had been auite satisfactory and action had been taken in some cases where necessary.

Meter reading for the two months of June and Julv had produced £13,759 compared with £14,355 for the previous two months of April and May and £13,773 for June and July last year.
