Hairini Cheese Factory Destroyed By Fire

(Special) TE AWAMUTU. This Day. The New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Company's cheese factory at Hairini, near Te Awamutu. was destroyed by fire on Wednesday evening'.

The factory, which is an old building, held five vats. It was reconditioned last season and two shifts daily were worked. The capacity of the factory was between 800 and 1000 tons of cheese a year. The building was insured with Lloyd's.

The loss will cause widespread inconvenience in the district, but provision is being made for the diversion of the milk supply to the company's butter factory at Te Awamutu.
