Intoxicated Driver

(Special) KAIKOHE, This Day "You will be admitted to probation for a period of two years.” said Mr. Raymond Ferner. S.M. at a sitting of Kaikohe Court, cn Wednesday, when convicting Joseph Leslie Stewart, aged 18, cf Pakaraka. Stewart was charged with being drunk in charge of a motor vehicle on April 2.

He had been to a dance at Okaihau and became intoxiated after consuming some wine there. On the way, when he was driving his brother and a friend home in his father’s car, the car went over .the .bank at Hargreave’s Corner near Chaeawai and broke through a fence. As a result of the accident he and his brother were in hospital with injur< ies for some time.
