Tue Moderator of the Presbyterian Church in New Zealand (the Rt. Rev. John Davie), of Masterton. has accepted a call to take charge of Si. Andrew’s Church, Gisborne, and he is expected to arrive in about a month to take over his new duties.

The death occurred today of Mr. Edwin Esson Hoopei’. aged 75, a wellknown resident of Hamilton. He was editor of the Waikato Times for many years. He is survived by his wife, there being no family.

Official advice has been received by Mrs. B. A. Hay, of 88 Remuera Road, that her younger son. Sergeant-Pilot Bruce Hamilton Hay, has been promoted to the rank of pilot-officer. He is a member of the “All Black" night fighter squadron flying Hurricanes.
