Kaikohe Flower Show

[Special to "Northern Arlvooa1e”l KAIKOHE. This Day

A successful and well-patronised autumn flower show was held by the Kaikohe Methodist Guild.

Although the dahlias were not as good as usual the flower entries on a whole were well up to standard and presented a gay scene. Mrs E. M. Cleary, of Moerewa, judged. Mesdames Oobbs, Allen and Bedggood were stewards while those in charge of the various stalls were as follows: — Mrs Forsythe (ice-cream); Mesdames Sifieet, Hay ter, Greenbury, Hilder (afternoon tea); Mesdames Allen and L. N. Moor (produce). Assisted by the Rev. N. Hooper, Mrs Fricker was general supervisor. During the afternoon the Guild president presented the prizes and paid special tribute to Mrs Dobbs and Mr and Mrs H. E. Allen for the hard work they had put into making the function a success. In the flower section Mrs A. G. Wright was easily the most successful entrant while Mrs J. Wallace won most of the vegetable classes.
