Traffic Prosecutions

At Kaitaia Police Court two people on charges of breaches of Traffic Regulations, 1936. were prosecuted by Mr C. Fletcher, Traffic Inspector in the employ of the Transport Department at Kaikohe. In one, Moses McDou'ell, taxi driver, was charged with exceeding the speed limit on the main highway at Kaitaia. Mr Fletcher, in his statement, said he estimated the speed at 40 miles an hour. McDowell contended it w'as nearer 35. McDowell was fined £1 and costs.

For operating a motor lorry unequipped with a rear vision mirror. Wilson Moore Motors was fined 10/- and costs,
