Control Of Thomas Cook’s Tourist Bureau

LONDON, February 17. A Bill will be introduced into Parliament under which the four main line railway companies will acquire control of Thomas Cook's tourist agency. Although Cook’s is popularly supposed to be a British company, the control passed in 1928 to the Belgian Wagonlits Company, now under German control. The Belgian shares are at present vested in the Custodian of Enemy Property. The Bill is designed to enable the transfer to be made to the railway companies.
