Northland Gun Cluß's First Shoot
The Northland Gun Club held the monthly shoot for November over the week-end ,at the newly-acquired grounds, kindly made available by that well-known sportsman, Mr. W. Hawken, of Maungatapere. There was a good attendance of club members and friends, and as a result good entries in all events. The final shoot for the Angelo Skeet trophy resulted in one of the club’s novice shooters. I. S Gunson. although handicapped, just missing the possible, and taking the trophy with a score of 74 out of 75, over three shoots. Leading scores were:
Five Bird Eve-Opener: C. W. Timperley 5, W. McKinley 5, S. E. Hutton 4. Timperley and McKinley divided first anc second sweep money. Alan Angelo Skeet Aggregate Handicap over three shoots: I. S. Gunson, 24, 25, 25. A. McKenzie, 25, 22, 25; H. Timperley, 25 23, 24; C. R. Timperley, 25, 24, 23; Sarr A ligfffi 99 9^) Murrell Cud Aggregate: W. McKinley 8, A. E. Walker 6. A. E. Hayes 6, R. Cavanagh 6. The final shoot-off resulted in A. E. Hayes finishing second. The remainder of the dav was spent in practice shooting, with small individual sweepstakes.
