Lamce-Cpl. Turner Accidentally Killed

Accidentally killed in Egypt, LanceCorporal Arthur Hayden Turner was well known in the Hikurangi district, where for some years he was employed in the coal mines. Born in New Tredigar, Wales, 36 years ago, he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. C. Turner, and he came to New Zealand at the age of 21.

For two years prior to his enlistment with the engineers, he was engaged by the Fletcher Steel Construction Co., at Auckland. He served with the engineers of the 2nd N.Z.E.F.
