Whangarei Girls Drive Tractor
'Members of the Land Group of the W.W.S.A. at Whangarei received their first instruction'in the art of tractor driving,, at Mr. H. W. James' farm on Sunday. Under Mr. James’, tuition, the girls made good progress in this work, and before the afternoon had concluded, each member had driven the tractor over a few hills, and tried her skill at cornering. An interesting exhibition of kumera planting as carried out by Maoris was another feature of the afternoon.
