U.S. Naval Aid Of Vital Assistance

LONDON, Nov. 14. “I cannot divulge the figures of what the Americans have convoyed across the Atlantic but it has been of vital assistance to us.” said the First Sea Lord (Admiral of the Fleet Sir Dudley Pound) in a speech at the R.A.N.V.R. Auxiliary Patrol Club. “The American navy' is co-operating with us magnificently in numerous ways and I do not know where I would be without the 50 destroyers and 10 cutters they gave us. “The Americans have refitted a number of ships for us. Their work is first class because they are putting their backs into the job.”
