British Patrols Active On Border

[British Official Wireless] (Rec. 11 a.m.) RUGBY, October 7. A Cairo General Headquarters communique states that on the night of October 5-6 and throughout yesterday until a dust storm again interfered with visibility, our patrols were active on all sectors. Much useful information was obtained from two Italian prisoners who were captured. On the first occasion when contact was made the enemy hurriedly withdrew after sustaining casualties. In the frontier area patrolling is continuing. On the night of October 5-6 a patrol returning from a raid deep into enemy territory was overwhelmed by a party of enemy in considerable strength, supported by guns. One officer and eight other ranks are missir.g.
