Bodies Ashore On Brazilian Coast
NEW YORK, October 7. Residents of the Brazilian coastal town of Maceio, south of the position where the mysterious sea battle between two warships, one of which was reported to have been sunk, is supposed to have happened, say bodies have been washed ashore. i Their statements so far have not been verified. . The United States Naval Department remains silent, but the opinion is hazarded that an Am-i erican warship was involved. j Authoritative sources in London say : they have no knowledge concerning the report from'New York regarding a naval battle off Brazil. - J . ,s , . ■ ;
