Five Hospital Nurses With Measles

Measles has affected the nursing staff at the Whangarei Hospital, five nurses being found this morning to have contracted the complaint.

The total number of patients from the Kensington Park military camp is 32, most of them being measles cases. Since the epidemic a fortnight ago was at its height there has been a gradual decrease in the number of cases and extra wards, which had had to be cleared to provide accommodation, were returned to their normal use.

Questioned today regarding the position caused by cases again increasing, the medical superintendent (Dr. J. W. Hall) said that so far it had been possible to handle them in the isolation ward, but further cases would make it necessary, as it had done a fortnight ago, to requisition other wards as required.
