Farmers Urged To Try Serpentine Super

Serpentine superphosphate was rationed more generously than ordinary superphoshate and was well worth a trial by farmers, said the president (Mr. A. Briscoe Moore), at the Whangarei Sub-provincial meeting of the Farmers’ Union today. Fifteen months ago the Farmers' Union had advocated its increased manufacture and its voice in the matter had been heeded. Because the union had pressed for its manufacture, it was only fair that farmers should be encouraged to try out the serpentine super, Mr. Moore said. It had been found successful on areas with large rainfall, and was a manure that could be stored indefinitely—a definite advantage over ordinary superphosphate.
