U.S. To Combat German Lie Service

(Rec. 11 a.m.) NEW YORK, Oct. 6. The “New York Times” says the Administration is rapidly organising a world-wide information service designed to break the Axis news monopoly in Europe and neutralise German's “lie campaign” against the United States in South America. The news service will be headed by Colonel W. J. Donovan, who recently toured Europe as President Roosevelt’s special emissary, with Mr Nelson Rockefeller controlling activities in South America. It is understood, that the Administration is considering the erection of radio transmitters in Iceland and Britain.
