Corbett To Wrestle Meehan In Whangarei

Although the wrestling season in Now Zealand this year was later than usual in opening and comparatively few associations have been active, the enthusiasm aroused wherever matches have been staged, has been right up to the level of the oalmy days of the sport. The first match to be staged by the Whangarei Wrestling Association will take Diace on Friday night. The contestants will be the Canadian, Pat Meehan, and the CanadianAmerican, Joe Corbett, two men who have proved their quality in New Zealand in past seasons. Meehan, tall and powerfully, built, is noted for the fact that, not edntent with mastery ever the orthodox holds, but his spectacular use of dropkicks, flying-body-rcissors, and flying tackles. Corbett, who is just under 6ft. in height, but weighs nearly 17 stone, is of ideal wrestling build, and his masterly knowledge of the sport enables him to cope with whatever his opponent may bring forward.
