Training Pilot Hit Wire, Killed

[Special to “Northern Advocate”] WELLINGTON, This Day. An airman-pilot in training, Lead-ing-Aircraftsman Arthur Louis Skinner, was killed at Paekakariki yesterday morning when an aircraft of the Royal New Zealand Air Force flew into a target-towing wire and spun into the sea during training. Leading-Aircraftsman Skinner was born in Dunedin in 1914 and educated at the Wocdville District High School and St. Patrick's College, Silverstream. His next-of-kin is his wife. Mrs Mary Skinner, of Grant Road. Dannevirke. A court of inquiry will be held.
