Dozie Boy, Wineberry Attractive At Ellerslie

[Special to "Northern Advocate” 1 AUCKLAND, This Day. There was a lot of interesting work at Ellerslie this morning, a feature being the jumping by horses engaged in the Great Northern meeting. The Great Northern candidate, Dozie Boy, was schooled over a round of the course in company with Wineberry, Lap Up, Ruling Star, Fertinax and Bright Idea. They finished as named, Dozie Boy and Wineberry giving an attractive display of jumping. Bright Idea blundered at the second fence and lost his rider, but the others all jumped well Ringshot and Paint finished clear of Loyal Grand over four hurdles on the course proper. Rival and Gay Sheen schooled separately over hurdles in the centre.

On the flat those to do best were Llandaff, Happicoat, Royal Message. Bronze Ora and Kentucky. Llandaff ran half a mile in 49 1-5, the last three in 36 2-5. In a similar task, Happicoat took 49 2-5. The best five furlongs was credited to Royal Mess.age, who had an advantage over Calula Boy, the time being 1.2 1-5. The Cornwall Handicap candidates Silver Quex and Kentucky were sent over seven furlongs in company with Ercnze Ora. They ran the distance in 1.29 2-5, the last six taking 1.16 1-5. Other Gallops

Five furlongs: Golden Bonnet beat Last Survey in 1.4, Stratford and Erndale 1.3 3-5, Bisqpit 1.5 4-5, Boomps-a-Daisy beat Radio Call 1.3 1-5, Black Majesty and Battle Gain (on the tan) 1.4 4-5.

Six furlongs: Bronzo 1.21 3-5, Aero King 1.17 4-5, Bronze Emerald 1.17 1-5. Lockheed 1.22 2-5, Dublin Show beat Classic. 1.18 1-5. Tea Gong 1.26, Auburn Lad 1.18 2-5, Ohmaha beat Lady Acushla 1.18. Seven furlongs:' Valmint and Royal Appellant (on the tan) 1.43 1-5. British Talent and Flylite 1.33 3-5.
