Whangarei Horses In Ellerslie Try-Outs

AUCKLAND, This Day,

A number of horses with engagements at the Whangarei meeting were given their final workout at Ellerslie this morning and those to go best were Ghmaha, White Mark and Replete. No. 1 grass track with'the poles 10ft out, was available for fast work and provided good going,

Ghmaha in Great Order

Ghmaha reeled off half a mile in 49 2-ss. He was going well over the final stages and is in great order for his Whangarei engagement. Replete left three furlongs behind in 38 2-ss, and White Mark did a similar task in 38s. Other gallops were:

Three furlongs: Kindergarten, 39 2-5, Bronzo, 37 4-5; Clinch, 39 2-5; Kawariki and Muscatine, 38 3-5; Night Filot, 41 l-ss; Flying Mask, 38 3-5; Don Quex, 40s.

Four furlongs: Corot, 50s; Purple Vermeer beat Grey Wings and Balosniel in 525; Sir Reynard and Kaimanawa, 50 4-5; Cherry’s Ticket, 50; Lady Vixen, 49 4-5; Hunting King and Royal Message, 50; Topette, 51 1-5 Kadina, 51 1-5; Camilla, 51 4-5.

Five furlongs: Last Survey. 1.6 4-5: June Tide, 1.4 2-5; Rara Avis, 1.5; Maori Star and Master Warden, 1.8; Golden Bonnet, 1.5 3-5; Funny Fox 1.6 1-5. Six furlongs: Sir Cameron, 1.16 2-5 last half with Classic, 50 3-5. Once round: British Talent, March By and Royal Appellant. 1.57. last six in 1.22; Loyal Grant, 1.59, last six in 1.24 2-5.

Boy Lu and Wharemana negotiated six hurdles, both jumping well.
