North Manoeuvres Had Valuable Lessons
[Special to “Northern Advocate”! AUCKLAND, This Day. The officer commanding the Northern Division (Brigadier P. H. Bell, D. 5.0.), last night expressed satisfaction with the result of the important army exercises concluded in the north yesterday. “In manoeuvres such as these,” he said, “it is difficult to give any result. In fact, no success or failure was possible, chiefly in view of the difference in the strength of the opposing forces, but the experience gained and the lessons learned will be invaluable to those who took part. “Looked at from all angles, I consider the manoeuvres were a very valuable addition to the training of the units of the territorial forces involved.” /
