One of the greatest surprises of the season was caused in the semi-finals of the Auckland cricket championship when the leading team, Y.M.C.A., had lost nine wickets for 49.
Bright and forceful batting by Elliott, former Auckland representative, in association with Swift, took the score to 110 (Elliott 72; Thompson 4 for 25, Harrison 4 for 26) and 84 for four v. Eden 279.
P,apakura Camp 116 and 177 (Le Pine 89, Cedarwell 49: Stevenson 4 for 60) v. Training College 126 and nine for 168, teachers winning by one wicket.
Parnell 199 and 49 (Prentice 5 for 26. Cowie 4 for 18) v. North Shore 100 (Goodsir 4 for 21) and 102 for nine. Middlemore 371 for nine v. Grafton 168 (Ellis 69 and 87 for one).
Ponsonby-Balmoral 145 and 58 v, University 307 (Connell 51, W. H. Cooper 122, G.arrard 47).
