With the championships finalised, reversal to the happy inter-grade matches which proved so enjoyable during the Christmas holiday break has been made in Whangarei cricket. SERVICES Although over-cautious • at first, School batsmen compiled the respectable score of 147, Davidson, who has been most consistent lately, retiring with 29. • Services made the winning hit only a few minutes before time. High School 147 (Black 21, Nisbet 37, Child 32, Davidson 29 not out, Teesdale 11 not out; Hore took 3 for 29, Izzard 3 for 40). Services 160 for 8 (Izzard 25, Hore 2G, Clothier 26, Hewitt 17, Power 23, Lark 14; Rassmussen took 3 for 45, Thomas 2 for 46).

ALBION v. KAMO A seventh wicket stand between Huston and Conaghan took Kamo to Within sight of victory against Albion Huston hit two sixers, the ball landing among the cars on both occasions, but was trapped and Albion won by 21 runs.

Features were the fine bowling of Holt and Meaney, another useful score by Holmes, who fell to a sensational George catch, taken one handed as the fieldsman doubled up. Albion 112 (Holmes 35, Jennings 25, Horn 19, H. Madden 15; Hold took 7 for 43). Kamo 91 (Huston 26, Holt 13, Wilkinson 10; Conway 3 for 10, Meaney took 6 for 24).

OLD BOYS v. LOVATT’S Old Boys-Nomads sailed into the Lovatt’s attack to such effect that 140 was scored in 1£ houi’s. C. Nisbet wielded a delightfully free bat, landing two sixers and eight fours in his 63 made out of 85 for the first three wickets.

A peculiar' feature of Lovatt’s innings was that four batsmen were dismissed with the first ball of four overs. Kelly got rid of Cunis early, and except for Thorpe and Ashcroft the team did not make a stand.

- Both elevens were completed with the inclusion of members of the Central club, whose game with Onerahi did not transpire. Old Boys-Nomads 140 (C. Nisbet 63. F. Madden 10. Judson 10, Fraser 13, McDonald 12; Thorpe took 4 for 25). Lovatt’s 85 (Thorpe 12, Ashcroft 13; Fraser 3 for 6, Bradley 3 for 16).
