Rotary Conference Eliminates Trimmings

Because of the war the 19th conference of Rotary Clubs in New Zealand is being confined largely to business, and many of the social activities usually associated with the assembly have been eliminated.

The conference was officially opened yesterday by the mayor (Mr. T. C. A. Hislop). Mr. D. A. Ewen, who is presiding, said the number of clubs was 26 and the membership 1462.
