Two Race Results From Pigeon Club

In the Whangarei Homing Pigeon Club’s interval race from Auckland. D, Millington scored an outstanding success.

Results were:- D. Millington’s r.c.h., flying lime. 2 hours 31 minutes, 1; T. Gilbey's r.c.c., flying time, 3 hours 37 minutes, 2; H. Parkin’s b.e.p.c., flying time, 4 hours 4 minutes, 3. This race carries with it the Bowden trophy. Another race should have been flown from Wellsford, but the birds were carried cn to Kaipara Flats, where they were released at 3.8 p.m. and arrived home in less than two hours. . ...

Results were: S. McLachlan’s, 1020.7 yards per minute, 1; D. Millington’s, 1020.4, 2; H. Alderton’s, 1017, 3. D. Millington has now established a lead of nine points in the young bird average with S. McLachlan second.
