Waikato Candidates Gallop At Ellerslie

Several horses with engagements at the Waikato meeting during the weekend were given their final gallops at Eilerslie this morning. Those to record good times were Ivy Willonyx, Brazilian, Kaimanawa. Rara Avis, Night Filot, Corot and Calula Boy. Ivy Willonyx and Brazilian ran three furlongs in 37 1-5, the best oi the morning over the distance. There was litle between Rara Avis and Kaimanawa at the end of half a mile in 49 1-5. Calula Bey First Calula Boy finished well clear of Night Hawk over six furlongs in 1.16 2-5.
Corot and Night Pilot traversed seven furlongs in 1.30 3-5, the last six furlongs taking 1.6. Other gallops were; .
Three furlongs: The Pacifist, 41 4-5; Transmitter, 38; Purple Vermeer. 40 1-5; British Mint, 44; Softly and Kincaid. 38; Deoendable and Honeywood, 37 3-5.
Four furlongs: Last Survey and Lucky Lady, 51 1-5; Maori Star and Master Warden, 52 3-5; Northlander, 57 3-5; Hunting King, 51 2-5; Landsman, 50 2-5.
Five furlongs: Golden Bonnet, 1.4 1-5. .. " . Round: Auburn Lad, 1.48 3-5: Brahman and Glen Abb, 1.46 1-5; Boy Lu and Agog. 1.49; Tea Gong, 1.52. Leighton Buzzard gave a safe display over four hurdles in the centi’e, but did not have a great amount of pace on. Mendelssohn cleared four pony hurdles in a satisfactory manner. Inver was sent over a couple of pony hurdles, jumping well. Hot Shot and Vaalsstar were sent over four pony hurdles, giving a good display, particularly Hot Shot.
