Next 611,90 Days Crucial For Britain

WASHINGTON, December 25.

The head of the British purchasing mission (Mr Arthur Purvis), after making a report to the Secretary of the Treasury (Mr H. L. Morgenthau) on conditions in Britain, said to journalists that the next 60 to 90 days would be crucial for Britain, but she would not collapse, even though the United States should fail to meet the increased demands for war materials. “I know of no way of ending this war except the realisation by Germany of the increased production of both England and North America,” said Mr Purvis.

“The r.apidly-increasing production of weapons by the United States, is the keynote of the stopping of this war.”
