Wavell’s Confidence In Future

LONDON, December 25.

“We can close 1940 in a spirit of confidence for the future,” says the British Commander-in-Chief in the Middle East (General Sir Archibald Wavell) in a Christmas greeting to the troops. “We will serve on together till the final victory. “Then will come the real struggle to build a world worthy of the principles for which we are fighting, namely, freedom, truth, peace and goodwill.”
